This design requires considerably less force to accomplish the hole, which reduces operator fatigue and increases user comfort. Less Force Means Less Vibration. With its threaded/toothed design, once the bit's teeth grab the wood, the bit pulls its way all the way through. Drilling in tight or awkward positions just got a whole lot easier. However, the new Self-Feeding Spade Bit's tapered head design allows you to easily start the head of the next size bit in the existing hole and drill the hole out to the new size.
